eremy Irvine (WAR HORSE, THE RAILWAY MAN) and British actress Phoebe Fox (‘Black Mirror’, ‘Switch’) have signed on to star in THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH, the next installment in the series of the worldwide box office hit THE WOMAN IN BLACK. The announcement was made today by Simon Oakes, President & CEO of Hammer and Vice-Chairman of Exclusive Media, Guy East and Nigel Sinclair, Co-Chairmen of Exclusive Media (Hammer’s parent company), Brian Oliver, President of Cross Creek Pictures and Xavier Marchand, Entertainment One’s President of Worldwide Distribution.
THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH will continue the story four decades later. Seized by the government during World War II, the sudden arrival of a group of evacuated children at Eel Marsh House awakens its darkest inhabitant.
Directed by Tom Harper, the film will be brought to the big screen by the same production team behind THE WOMAN IN BLACK and produced by Exclusive Media’s Tobin Armbrust and Simon Oakes, Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver and Talisman Films’ Richard Jackson, in addition to Roy Lee who will serve as Executive Producer.
Screenwriter Jon Croker (DESERT DANCER) wrote the screenplay, based on an original story by Susan Hill (The Woman In Black).

Simon Oakes, Vice-Chairman of Exclusive Media and President & CEO of Hammer said: “We are thrilled to have Jeremy and Phoebe join our team on THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH. THE WOMAN IN BLACK, starring Daniel Radcliffe and directed by James Watkins (EDEN LAKE) has become the highest grossing British horror film of the past 20 years, grossing over $130 worldwide.
The Woman in Black was set in the early 1900s and detailed the story of a young lawyer who is ordered to travel to a remote corner of the U.K. to sort out the papers of a recently deceased client. In the eerie setting of Eel Marsh House he discovers the vengeful ghost of the title.
Seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital during World War II, the sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers to Eel Marsh Harsh has awoken its darkest inhabitant. Eve, a beautiful young nurse, is sent to the house to care for the patients but soon realizes she must save them from more than their own demons. Despite Eve’s efforts to stop her, one by one they fall victim to the Woman in Black.

Jeremy said; “I think it’s great to come and visit somewhere and be encouraging all these kids’ enthusiasm for film. What’s wonderful about it is that they are all so honest and genuinely enthusiastic. I think film is such an educator and you can learn so much about other cultures and other people through film.
I was always encouraged to read as a kid and reading you are imagining the story. When you see a film you are seeing someone else’s interpretation of it and hopefully you can take something from that as well.”

Jeremy in talks for “The World Made Straight”
by Georgia on February 8th, 2013 • Leave a Comment • in Jeremy News, Movie News, Rumours
Variety are reporting that Jeremy, along with Hollywood thespians, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Minka Kelly, are currently in discussions to star in the book-to-film adaptation of indie thriller “The World Made Straight”. A brief synopsis has been provided by Variety; a more detailed synopsis has also been provided by Up And Comers.
The project is based on the 2006 novel by Ron Rash, set in a rural Appalachian community haunted by the legacy of a Civil War massacre. The film follows a rebellious young man as he struggles to escape violence that ties him to the past.
David Burris will direct the film which follows Irvine’s character Travis, who is a high school dropout. When he happens upon a marijuana field, he steals some and sells them to a disgraced former teacher turned drug dealer (presumably to be played by Morgan), eventually moving in with him and his druggie girlfriend (presumably Kelly). The film is set, like all of Rash’s stories, in a rural Appalachian community haunted by the legacy of a brutal Civil War massacre. Filming is scheduled for later this year. Rash’s novel “Serena” was also recently adapted by Susanna Bier, with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in the lead roles.
